Info to share:
The HCC Digital Communication Department is hosting a community graphic design event in which our students will design promotional materials for nonprofit organizations. The activity will be Friday, April 15 at HCC West Loop Center, 5601 West Loop South.
Nonprofit organizations in need of newsletters, logos, posters, brochures, flyers, website designs or other promotional materials can sign up to be a part of this free event.
The purpose of this event is to reach out to the Houston area nonprofit community that do not have resources to pay for the graphic design work to create promotional material for their services, events and mission.
This will also provide a great opportunity for our students to acquire portfolio pieces, gain experience designing for real clients and take pride in volunteering.
Non-profits can submit up to three projects which can include fliers, posters, banners, brochures, logos, newsletters, invitations, stationery, websites, etc.
For event information and registration, contact Karsan Hirani at karsan.hirani@hccs.edu or 713.718.7981.

Books on Public Relations Measurement from The Measurement Standard’s recent post entitled “Reviews of Three New Books on Public Relations Measurement”:

- Primer of Public Relations Research, Second Edition by Don W. Stacks, PhD
- Corporate Reputation and The News Media; Agenda-setting Within Business News Coverage in Developed, Emerging, and Frontier Markets edited by Craig E. Carroll, Routledge
From personal recommendations:
Let’s see if I make it to any of these in 2011.
