These are phrases with which I’ve become very familiar as a consultant. So when I came across the video (below) I knew I had to share it. It’s a funny look at how professionals in other industries would/did react when asked to work on spec.

is one of the tools I frequently recommend to students in my social media classes, in particular when discussing measurement and review. The service does so much more than just give you shortened links to use in Tweets, especially if you create an account — it gives you statistics on how many clicks your content is generating, when and from where (and that’s just that start).

Twitter is my favorite social media tool. It gives you the most organic access to new contacts and potential customers. It provides access to in-depth search options on what others are posting. It gives almost instant access to conversation options with others who are interested in similar topics. And it’s indexed by search engines.
This video from DigitalMarketer gives an in-depth look at a social media marketer’s how-to list on building a large Twitter audience. It gives the name of tools, explanations on how they are used, and their impact on a case study.
For those of you just getting started on Twitter, some of these tools and tips may seem extreme. For those of you getting ready to amp up your Twitter presence, you may want to start out by trying one or two of the ones you don’t already have in your arsenal. I know I’m giving it serious thought.

Facebook has updated the numbers associated with their US Hispanics affinity group, increasing the total from 26.7 million (published in 2013) to 29.1 million. This means that there are an additional 2+ million US Hispanics identified by Facebook for target marketing. Before the creation of the affinity group, the only way for marketers in the US to target Hispanic consumers was through language preferences, which were imprecise and incomplete. The affinity group has helped marketers reach US Hispanic audiences more effectively.
Facebook also updated the language preference numbers, increasing the Spanish-dominant segment from 10 million to 14 million, making them 48% of the US Hispanics identified. In addition, English-dominant users decreased from 9 million to 7 million, and Bilingual users increased from 7 million to 8 million.
What this means is that, according to Facebook, active US Hispanic Facebook users have the following composition:
29.7 million total US Hispanics
