Professional networking social channel LinkedIn has just reached 1 million publishers. That means they have more than 1 million members publishing more than 130,000 posts a week on LinkedIn. I’m not one of them, yet. Are you?
The LinkedIn publishing platform is open to all members. It gives marketers a good opportunity to create new content, or repurpose existing content, to reach readers in the upper ranks of their industries. LinkedIn estimates that approximately 45% of readers are in the upper ranks of their industries: managers, VPs, CEOs, etc. The average post published in LinkedIn is expected to reach professionals in 21 industries and 9 countries.
If you’re already creating content relevant to your industry, for a blog, then you’re already creating content that you can optimize and amplify by publishing it on LinkedIn. It may need to have a new headline and have some of the content re-written (to fit the audience, to update any out-of-date info), and you definitely need to choose a photo — but you’ll give it new life, and bring it to new readers.
I’ve been on LinkedIn longer than on Facebook or Twitter. I’ve had more business leads contact me through LinkedIn and use my profile to check my expertise than any other online source. Considering the feedback and impact I’m already receiving through my LinkedIn account, I’m going to put “publishing” on my to do list.
In the meanwhile, you can find top posts through LinkedIn Pulse.
